Yeah I did. Crazy, right? It supposed to be just another grey tone but the I saw the watercolor. Rest is history. But I won't try it again if I can help it. Better stick to your strathmore watercolor paper. It takes twice as long and a lot more tougher because the paint kept sliding on the smooth surface.
Good to know, man. I was thinking I might try watercolor tones over a layer of Copic gray values. It's something I saw over on Joe Quinones' DA gallery and it seems to work nicely for him. Again, as you say, it's going to come down to the right paper, I reckon.
